REPRESENT
In the early teen years, boys can begin to feel lost. Connection and direction are essential foundations for confidence, but boys at this age too often lack the emotional vocabulary or experience to identify and express their needs.
In general, boys learn better through action rather than just language. An experiential approach to learning key social and emotional skills makes more meaning in the mind of a boy - and it gives their ever-growing and energised bodies the busy-ness they need! |
What's in the program? |
'Represent' is a program that provides practical experiences and confidence through competence. Participants develop social and, in particular, emotional literacy skills in order to help them understand their own emotions better as well as the emotions of others. Topics include:
*emotional awareness *healthy friendships *positive mindsets *resilience *self-knowledge *healthy influences |
Who's the program for? |
'Represent' is aimed at boys in Grades 5 to 7. At this age of many transitions, boys begin to develop thinking patterns regarding their identity, body image and self-esteem. With positive guidance, self-awareness and experience at success, core confidence concepts can develop in a positive direction.
