MAKE TRACKS
In the early teen years, boys can begin to feel lost. Connection and direction are essential foundations for confidence, but boys at this age too often lack the emotional vocabulary or experience to identify and express their needs.
In general, boys learn better through action rather than just language. An experiential approach to learning key social and emotional skills makes more meaning in the mind of a boy - and it gives their ever-growing and energised bodies the busy-ness they need! |
What's in the program? |
'Make Tracks' is a program that provides practical experiences and confidence through competence. Participants will be required to take an active role in the program development and work together towards the end goal of hosting a 5km community fun run for charity. Topics such as fair play and emotional intelligence, friendships, decision-making, healthy body image and positive thinking will be integrated with the run preparation and weekly training.
|
Who's the program for? |
'Make Tracks' is aimed at boys in Grades 6 to 8. At this age, boys begin to develop thinking patterns regarding their identity, body image and self-esteem. With positive guidance and experience at success, the core confidence concepts can develop in a positive direction.
